Sometimes you just want to ask a question without opening another app.

So we made it possible to email DatBot directly.

## How It Works

1. Send an email to **mailbot@datbot.app**
2. Put your question in the email body
3. Set the subject line based on what you want (see below)
4. Get a response back in your inbox

That's it. No login required. Uses your existing DatBot account credits.

## Subject Line = Mode

The subject line tells DatBot how to handle your request:

### "Quick Report"
Actionable 2-5 page research report with 20+ sources. Takes under 2 minutes. Good for time-sensitive questions.

**Example:**
- Subject: Quick Report
- Body: What are the latest trends in B2B SaaS pricing?

### "Deep Dive"
Comprehensive research with 100+ sources. Takes 7-10 minutes. Full citations included.

**Example:**
- Subject: Deep Dive
- Body: Compare the pros and cons of microservices vs monolithic architecture for a startup

### "Search"
Live web search. Gets current information.

**Example:**
- Subject: Search
- Body: What's the current price of Bitcoin?

### Anything Else
Standard AI response. No research, just the AI's knowledge.

**Example:**
- Subject: Help with email
- Body: Write a professional follow-up email after a sales call

## Use Cases

### On the Go
Need an answer but don't want to open another app? Fire off an email from your phone's native email client.

### Workflow Integration
Some email workflows can auto-send to DatBot. Question comes in, gets processed, answer goes back.

### No Context Switching
Already in your email? Stay there. No need to open a browser, log in, navigate to chat.

### Delegation
"Just email mailbot@datbot.app with that question" is easier than explaining how to use a new tool.

## Tips

- **Be specific in your email body.** Same rules as chat—detailed questions get better answers.
- **Check spam.** Responses might land there the first time. Mark as "not spam."
- **One question per email.** Keep it focused for best results.
- **Account must be active.** The email address you send from needs to match your DatBot account.

## What You Get Back

A nicely formatted email with:
- Your answer
- Citations (for research modes)
- Source links (for research modes)

The response comes from the same address: mailbot@datbot.app

## Credits

Email requests use credits from your account, same as in-app requests. Deep Dive uses more than Quick Report uses more than standard queries.

**Q: What email do I send from?**
A: The email address linked to your DatBot account.

**Q: How long until I get a response?**
A: Standard: under a minute. Quick Report: under 2 minutes. Deep Dive: 7-10 minutes.

**Q: Can I attach files?**
A: Not yet. For document analysis, use the in-app Knowledge Map.

**Q: Can I have a conversation?**
A: Each email is standalone. For back-and-forth, use the chat interface.
