What This Does

Cover letters that don’t start with “I am writing to express my interest in…” Because everyone writes that. And hiring managers stop reading.

DatBot’s Writing folder includes prompts for job search materials:

  • Cover Letter Writer - letters that make them want to read your resume
  • Resume Builder - structured, achievement-focused resumes
  • Business Proposal Writer - formal proposals that win

Your cover letter has one job: make them curious enough to look at your resume.

How to Access

  1. Open DatBot and look at the right-hand panel
  2. Find the Writing folder and click to expand it
  3. Click Cover Letter Writer to use it
  4. Or click the pencil icon to add your specific background and target roles

Use Cases

Competitive roles. When 200 people apply, a generic letter gets you filtered out. A specific one gets you noticed.

Career changes. Acknowledge the transition directly. Make your non-traditional background a strength, not something to hide.

Senior/executive positions. Write peer-to-peer, not applicant-to-gatekeeper. Show strategic thinking in 200 words.

Cold applications. When there’s no job posting, you need a hook. Why them? Why now? Why you?

Referral follow-ups. “Sarah mentioned I should reach out” is just the opener. You still need to close.
